These convicts have been recorded as being sentenced to transportation or for a sentence of at least 7 years for a crime committed prior to the one that got them sent to WA (except for the 13 convicts who came to WA twice). Only a few of them actually left England.
A small number were convicted to transportation three times! One at least had been to Bermuda and Tasmania before being sent to WA.
We are looking for their prior convictions and adding the events and prison register links when we are able to find them with some certainty. Many convicts changed their names post conviction which makes them hard to find. There are also often a number of convicts with the same name convicted in the range of years where we are looking. This work will take some time. It is largely complete up to the Lord Raglan.

- Sent to WA Twice (14+2)
Forteen convicts came to WA on two different ships and received two convict numbers that we know about at the moment. We found the latest one 07.08.2025 so we may yet find another one or two. Some were caught back in England before thier sentence had expired. Others were back legally but reoffended and got caught.
Edward Barrington is a special case. He was sent to WA on the Cumberland in 1846 before the first official convict ship in 1850. He was given a form of Conditional Pardon but he returned to England before his sentence had expired and was dobbed in.
