Western Australia received 230 boys from Parkhurst Prison on 7 ships between 1842 & 1849. The boys were given Conditional Pardons in England and they were required to be "apprenticed" in WA under the control of the Guardian of Government Juvevile Immigrants. In addition 4 older boys received Conditional Pardons from Millbank Prison and they were also apprenticed. The 4 men from Pentonville Prison who were given Conditional Pardons and sent out on the Cumberland were just released on arrival.
The Parkhurst Lads did not get convict numbers and they are identified in the database with a PL icon. Initial details of their indentatures have been included on their pages but many changed masters and or trades so refer to "Forced Labour for the West" for more details.
